Focus Areas

Materials & Environment

Decision making support from the materials perspective with the environment in mind.

  • Material selection with product sustainability goals in mind. What you make your product out of has implications for your organization and downstream users. Firstly, you have to meet your design life goals, but it makes sense to also understand the implications of your decisions with respect to material declarations and substance reporting. We can assist with developing those detail internal requirements and specifications, evaluation and qualification test programs, supplier coordination and monitoring.
  • Supply chain mapping for quality assurance and international environmental compliance. Particularly important for businesses looking to enter the EU / UK markets in the face of ever-evolving REACH regulations. Good decisions early on can reap benefits in the long run. Do you know where your materials come from?

In-depth analysis and fact finding to support and de-risk your product development.

  • Design review and detailed compliance roadmaps. From high-level overviews to detailed compliance validation and verification roadmaps for regulatory approval and self-certifications. Areas of proficiency include aviation and automotive (motorcycle & three-wheel vehicle specialist FMVSS/CMVSS).
  • Risk assessment framework. You did your FMEAs (or if not, we can work together on that) but you’ll need a way to assess things that might go wrong in the field. Leveraging a decade in automotive and aerospace risk assessment, let’s set you up with a robust risk management framework so you can quickly evaluate problems that arise, determine root cause, and get your customers up and running without recurrences.
  • Critical reviews of the state-of the-art vs product design. This can include patent prior art review, literature review, and surveys of the market for existing solutions.
